The main objective of this report is to analyze the role of social cooperatives in the context of social agriculture in Italy. Using chamber data from 2009 sourced from the Aida – Bureau Van Dijk database, the report aims to quantify and describe the active cooperatives in the agricultural sector, examining their geographical distribution and economic characteristics.

While these cooperatives represent only a portion of the broader landscape of social agriculture, the report seeks to highlight their complexity and economic relevance, considering differences in development between regions with varying levels of cooperative ideology and agricultural cooperation.
