In Trento the conference “The Social and Solidarity Momentum”

8 November 2019

From 18th to 20th November Trento will host the international conference “The SSE Momentum: Finance for Inclusion and the Future of Work” organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO), in partnership with Euricse and HIVA and with the financial support of the Government of France and the Government of Luxembourg.

On the occasion of the ILO’s Centenary Initiative, the ILO coordinated two ambitious, large scale research projects investigating the role of the social and solidarity economy in addressing the challenges related to the future of work, with a specific focus on how financial resources can help the SSE grow and maximize its potential

The project “Contribution of the Social and Solidarity Economy and of Social Finance to the Future of Work”, conducted by HIVA and sponsored by the Government of France, and the “Financial Mechanisms for Innovative Social and Solidarity Economy Ecosystems” project, conducted by EURICSE and sponsored by the Government of Luxemburg

Both projects had a global reach, involving over twenty researchers and analyzing SSE organizations and their ecosystems in fifteen countries on four different continents around the world, and yielded important insights on their features and potential. These results will be presented for the first time at the conference, which will bring together over one hundred researchers, policymakers, and SSE experts and practitioners from all over the world, with the goal of commenting the projects findings and translating them into a shared research and policy agenda.

While participation at the event is on an invitation-only basis due to logistic constraints, all plenary sessions will be streamed live, and all the conference materials will be open access and available on the conference web site: www.ssemomentum.org.
