Euricse at the 5th EMES International research conference on Social Enterprise

Following the Pre-conference forum, the 5th EMES International Research Conference on Social Enterprise “Building a scientific  field to foster social enterprise eco-system” has officially started today with the plenary session “Social Enterprise and the third sector: Changing landscapes in an international perspective” chaired by Marthe Nyssens, founding member of the EMES European Research Network and Professor at the University of Louvain.

The conference is organized in partnership with the Finnish Network on Social Enterprise (Fin SERN) and welcomes scholars and researchers from around 40 countries in the world. The event is hosted by the Helsinki Deaconness Institute from the 30th of June to the 3rd of July 2015.

The programme includes 5 plenary sessions, 7 panels, 53 parallel sessions and 28 posters. A number of sessions is dedicated at comparing SE characteristics and models in different geographical contexts (Asia; Eastern, Central and Western Europe; Nordic countries; North and Latin America). Hot topics of the current edition of the event are “Social impact assessment” and “Community energy & SE”. Other thematic lines include: Management, Participation and governance, Social innovation, Social finance, Welfare, Legal frameworks, Hybridization, Sustainability.

Beside chairing different sessions, Euricse’s researchers will contribute to the conference by presenting the following research papers:

Moreover, Michela Giovannini, post-doc researcher at the University of Liége, will present the results of the research carried out in the framework of the Marie-Curie IRSES project INT.RE.COOP “Inter-organizational Arrangements Between Discourse and Practice. The Case of Recyclers’ Organizations in Santiago de Chile” Abstract
