Through the years the participation to this scientific workshop, of many scholars and young researchers from all over the world, contributed to enrich the debate on the role of cooperative finance in facing the crisis, highlighting the ability of cooperative banks in supporting and boosting local economies.
While there seems to be an increasing consensus that in most cases the cooperative banks, at least in Europe, out-performed their rivals in channeling funds to local economies, further research is needed to specify these banks’ contribution, shed light on their actual performance, and specify the institutional framework better suited to unfold their full potential.

The 11th edition of the International Workshop on Cooperative and Responsible Finance for Development, organized by Euricse in collaboration with Federcasse (Italian federation of cooperative banks) and Department of Economics and Management (University of Trento), with the support of EACB (European association of cooperative banks).
