Appeal to the European Commission for the support of cooperative and social enterprises presented in Brussels 

 

EUROPEAN COMMISSION: NEW POLICIES FOR THE SOCIAL ECONOMY

 

421 university professors and researchers from 29 countries signed the appeal From Words to Action: Supporting cooperative and social enterprises to achieve a more inclusive, sustainable and prosperous Europe. In an open letter to the European Commission they encourage EU institutions to turn to the social economy in this time of crisis in order to achieve a more inclusive, sustainable and prosperous Europe. The letter, co-authored by professor Carlo Borzaga and promoted by Euricse, was presented at the European Parliament on the 13th of October in the presence of Michel Barnier, European Commissioner for Internal Market and Services, Antonio Tajani, Vice-President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Industry and Entrepreneurship and with the participation of Jean-Paul Gauzès and Patrizia Toia, Members of the European Parliament.
