Cooperative Week

The United Nations had declared 2012 as the International Year of Co-operatives, encouraging all member states and relevant stakeholders to take advantage of it to establish policies, laws and regulations conducive to the formation, growth and stability of co-operatives.

CIRIEC Congress

The 29th International Congress of CIRIEC will be held in the City Hall of Vienna on September 12-14, 2012 on the general theme “Public, social and co-operative economy meeting the general interest”. This theme will be discussed in 5 sessions: What ethics for a global economy; A responsible and sustainable economy; Civil society and social mobilisation; Innovations and public, social and cooperative economy; New forms of governance and regulation.

CSEAR Conference: Call for paper

The annual CSEAR Conference will be held on September 20-21, 2012 in Levico Terme, Trento - Italy. The event is jointly organized by the Trento University Department of Computer and Management Sciences, Euricse and the RIBES research group in Levico Terme, a spa town in Trentino, Northern Italy. The main objectives of the conference are to provide an opportunity for academics, PhD students and practitioners to come together to discuss their preliminary findings and full papers in a supportive and interactive atmosphere, and to further enhance the knowledge and research on social and environmental accounting and reporting.

3rd EMES PhD Summer School: 70 applications from 35 countries

In the framework of the 3th EMES PhD Summer School, we're thrilled to share with you that we have received 70 applications from PhD candidates from more than 35 countries all over the world! We are really proud to have representatives from all continents: Africa (Ethiopia, Republic of Congo, South Africa), Asia (China, Japan, Korea), Australia, Latin and North America (U.S., Canada, Colombia, and Brazil), as well as Western and Eastern Europe.

VENICE 2012: New knowledge for the development of cooperatives

The conference “Promoting the understanding of cooperatives for a better world” organized by Euricse, the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) and the Alliance of Italian Cooperatives for the UN International Year of Cooperatives closed last week in Venice. The two-day conference featured over 50 speakers from around the world debating issues connected to the cooperative world. The participants also signed an appeal asking the European Union’s governments to pay greater attention to the importance of cooperative banks to economic recovery. (read more)

Romano Prodi to speak at the Conference

Romano Prodi, former Italian Prime Minister and former European Commission President,  will be among the distinguished speakers during the two-day conference organized by Euricse, ICA and the Alliance of Italian Cooperatives for the International Year of Cooperatives(IYC).
